Anna-Lena Klein is a presiding judge at the Regional Court Munich I and a legally qualified judge at the Milan section of the central division of the Unified Patent Court. She has served as a judge at the Regional Court Munich I since 2014 and has worked in the field of IP since 2018.
Anna-Lena was a member of the 7th division and the 21st division, both dealing mainly with patent infringement cases. She was also a member of the 33rd division, dealing mainly with trademarks and unfair competition cases.
Prior to her appointment as judge at the Regional Court Munich I, Anna-Lena completed a secondment to the Bavarian State Chancellery from 2011 to 2014. From 2009 to 2011 she served as a judge at a local district court in Bavaria and as a public prosecutor in Munich.
Since 2020, she has served as a mediator, especially in the field of IP law.

In 2010, Judge Edmond Chang was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, and at that time was the youngest federal judge in the U.S. Judge Chang earned a law degree with honors from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with honors from the University of Michigan.
Judge Chang previously served as a federal prosecutor in Chicago. He prosecuted federal offenses, including trade-secret and intellectual-property crimes, and later served as Chief of Appeals. Previously, Judge Chang practiced at an international law firm and served two federal judicial clerkships.
Judge Chang has lectured worldwide on many topics. He has taught at intellectual-property conferences in Thailand, Mongolia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Tunisia. In 2024, Judge Chang received the Distinguished Judicial Service Award from the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago, the U.S.’s oldest intellectual-property bar association. He is an elected member of The American Law Institute, the century-old institution that publishes the Restatements of the Law. Judge Chang serves on the Criminal Law Committee of the Judicial Conference, and was appointed by the Chief Justice as the chair of the Committee.

Eun-Joo Min is Director of the WIPO Judicial Institute. Prior to her current position, Ms. Min headed the policy and international cooperation work of the WIPO Building Respect for IP Division (2012-2017), and the legal development section of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (2007-2011).
Ms. Min was a member of the Expert Advisory Group of the Medicines Patent Pool from 2011 to 2018 and is the author of a number of publications on IP enforcement and dispute resolution, including a chapter on cross-border intellectual property enforcement in The Oxford Handbook of Intellectual Property Law (Oxford University Press, 2018).
Ms. Min holds a Ph.D. in law from Yonsei University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School, USA. She taught law at Yonsei University prior to joining WIPO and was an Adjunct Professor at Sogang Law School in 2013 and 2014.

Judge Hyejin Lee served as a Judge at the Intellectual Property (IP) High Court from 2013 to 2017, and at the Research Division of the Supreme Court from 2017 to 2020. From 2020 to 2026, Judge Lee served as a High Court Judge of the IP High Court. Since 2026, she has been serving as the Chief Research Judge for Intellectual Property at the Supreme Court. In August 2025, Judge Lee obtained her Ph.D. in Future Strategy from KAIST. Based on her practical experience over a decade in the field of IP, she has contributed to numerous landmark cases. Judge Lee has also authored many theses and columns, including “Patent Law Issues in Medical Use Inventions” (Supreme Court Law Journal, June 2016), “Designing the Global Vaccine Supply Chain: Balancing Intellectual Property Rights with Post-COVID-19 Vaccine Equity” (BMJ Global Health, November 2023), and “A rabbit hole to innovation land: An empirical examination of the Alice decision” (Computer Law & Security Review, April 2025).

Iris is a licensed German lawyer who has been specializing in IP for over 25 years. Originally from Germany, she initially worked as an attorney at an IP boutique in Hamburg before moving to Montreal in 2004, where she was a partner at a local law firm until 2013, after which she briefly worked as an in-house lawyer for Time Inc in New York. As INTA’s Director Enforcement and Sustainability she handles legal research and advocacy initiatives related to IP enforcement issues. She also leads the Enforcement, International Amicus, Unfair Competition, Parallel Imports and Brands and Sustainability Committees, and recently headed a Think Tank with 10 international judges to discuss the IP Judiciary of the Future. Some projects she has actively been managing include INTA’s international Judges Workshops, supporting worldwide improvement of administrative and judicial enforcement mechanisms, observation and support of developments in international judicial proceedings and legislative amendments worldwide. Through her past experience and current work at INTA, Iris has gained a deep understanding of the different IP laws and protection mechanisms worldwide.

Makiko TAKABE studied jurisprudence at The University of Tokyo in Japan, and she has over 40 years’ experience as a senior judge handling civil proceedings in a variety of fields, including more than 22 years presiding over intellectual property proceedings(1981-2021). She was in charge of numerous cases during her time as a judge and led intellectual property proceedings in Japan as chief judge of Intellectual Property High Court.
Ms. TAKABE is currently working as an attorney at law at Nishimura & Asahi, the largest law firm in Japan. She is also involved in the formation of intellectual property policies as a member of the Japan Patent Office and the Agency for Cultural Affairs. She is also a visiting professor at Waseda University Graduate School.
She has many publications such as: “Explication on Patent Related Litigation Practice” (2022, as the sole writer), “Explication on Copyright Litigation Practice” (2019, ditto), “Explication on Trademark Related Litigation Practice” (2023, ditto), “Explication on Unfair competition Litigation Practice” (2025, ditto).

Sang Jo JONG has graduated from Seoul National University (“SNU”) and done his Ph.D. studies at the London School of Economics. Doctoral degree was awarded in 1991 for his thesis titled “The Legal Protection of Computer Programs with particular reference to U.K., U.S., Japan & Korea.” His researches and teachings mostly center around copyright, trademark, patent, unfair competition, antitrust, and internet laws. He taught Korean Law at Harvard Law School in 2015 and at University of Washington School of Law in 2014 and also taught comparative intellectual property laws at Georgetown University Law Center in 2007 and at Duke Law School in 2003. He has served as the Dean of Seoul National University School of Law, and the Civilian Co-chairperson of the Presidential Council of Intellectual Property, the Director of the SNU Center for Law & Technology, and a Panel Member of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.

Sang-Wook Han is a senior attorney, who practices primarily in Kim & Chang’s Intellectual Property Practice and Japan Practice. Mr. Han specializes in IP litigation, trade secret litigation, and various disputes relating to Patent Law, Unfair Competition Prevention Law, and Copyright Law among others. He is particularly known for his expertise and experience in IP and technology-related transactions, as well as license contract negotiations. Since joining the firm in 1991, Mr. Han’s practice has focused on domestic and international IP-related disputes. Mr. Han also counsels major multinational companies on a wide range of issues, from strategic client counseling to IP portfolio management. For nearly thirty years, Mr. Han has advised multinational companies in evolving technology, Internet-related matters, patents, trademarks and copyrights, as well as complex litigation/disputes.

Sungyop Woo is a High Court Judge (Presiding Judge) of IP High Court of Korea since 2018. After his first appointment at Incheon District Court in 2009, he worked at several courts including Seoul Central District Court and Daegu High Court. Recently, he worked as a Judge of Research Division of Supreme Court of Korea from 2016 to 2018, mainly focusing on the cases pertinent to Civil Law, Criminal Law and Intellectual Property Law. He studied electronics engineering at Seoul National University from 1991 to 1992 and holds law degrees from Seoul National University (LL.B, 1999) and New York University (NYU) School of Law (LL.M on IP law, 2008) and completed Ph.D. course work on IP law at Seoul National University. He was invited as a visiting scholar at Santa Clara University School of Law in U.S. in 2015. He currently serves as a member of the WIPO Advisory Board.
